The Hakuba Half is not your standard half marathon. It’s a weekend-long celebration of running, community, and mountain life. Set against Hakuba’s alpine landscape and framed by spring cherry blossoms, this is a race that blends competition and culture.
The weekend kicks off with events and festivities that bring runners and spectators together. On race day, athletes take on either the Half Marathon or the 5K, starting and finishing at the legendary Olympic Ski Jump Stadium. The Half Marathon challenges runners to dig deep on a scenic course through the valley, while the 5K keeps things relaxed and inclusive, welcoming first timers, friends, and families into the experience. Once the race wraps up, the stadium transforms into a festival filled with great food, live music, art experiences, and sponsor booths. Stick around to refuel, explore, and connect with fellow runners throughout the afternoon. As night falls, the celebration continues with the official after-party at ブリザード—bringing everyone together for live music, raffle prizes, DJs, and high-energy vibes that carry late into the evening.
Sunday is all about hitting the mountain. With lifts spinning at Happo One through May 5, runners trade race shoes for ski boots and enjoy blue bird spring laps. As the day winds down, evenings in the valley are framed by blooming sakura, making it the perfect finale to a weekend that captures everything Hakuba does best.
