Meet the Comedians

Yurié, Shota, Dan, and Evans are world-class comedians lighting up Tokyo’s comedy scene. Each brings their own style and energy, from sharp wit to hilarious stories, that keep audiences laughing all night. Don’t miss a night of top-tier comedy from some of Tokyo’s finest!

Yurié Collins

Yurié Collins is a Tokyo-based comedian and actress from Wakayama, Japan. Performing in both English and Japanese, she is breaking ground in Japan’s stand-up comedy scene at Tokyo Comedy Bar, where her original show Tokyo Hoe Tales is the club’s number one hit.

In 2024, Yurié was awarded best comedian at the Tokyo International Comedy Festival. In 2025 she beat out 1000 comics to be selected for the ultra prestigious, Comics to Watch at the New York Comedy Festival.

She has original specials in both Japanese “Chotto”, and English “Non Playable Girlfriend” set to debut in early 2026. Her comedy often explores identity, cultural nuance, dating, and navigating life between East and West.

Shota Saimu

Shota Saimu is a rising star in Japan’s stand-up comedy scene, performing regularly in both English and Japanese, recently awarded best comic (English) at the Tokyo International Comedy Festival. Known for his candid honesty and playful silliness, Shota placed third in a national comedy competition while in college and made numerous TV appearances. After graduating, he joined the prestigious Yoshimoto Kogyo, performing manzai, a traditional Japanese comedy art form, as part of a duo. Later, he transitioned to western-style stand-up comedy, honing his craft in Canada before returning to Japan.

A popular Roast Battler in the World League, Shota has been featured at the Tokyo International Comedy Festival and the New York Comedy Festival. He co-hosts the Snacktime show and podcast with Yurié Collins and is a favorite in the World Roast Battle League.

Dan Wilson

Daniel Wilson is one of the few foreign comedians to have truly cracked the Japanese comedy code. A graduate of the prestigious Watanabe Entertainment Comedy School, he spent eight years performing Manzai under one of Japan’s biggest entertainment agencies — earning screen time on some of the country’s most iconic comedy TV shows.

Born in Japan, raised in Arizona, — Daniel brings a uniquely warped worldview to the stage, shaped by a life split between cultures and a brain warped by years inside the rigid Japanese comedy system. Now in his glorious third act, Daniel is unleashed. No longer bound by the constraints of traditional Manzai, he blends bro-ey, high-energy English stand-up with his deep experience in Japanese comedy — often delivering routines that are equal parts introspective, absurd, and painfully honest.

Evans Musoka

Evans Musoka is one of Japan’s most popular Western-style stand-up comedians, bringing his unique perspective and razor-sharp humor to audiences all over Japan and across Asia. Hailing from Kenya and based in Tokyo, Evans is a regular at Tokyo Comedy Bar, where he hosts, performs, and runs his signature monthly show, Raw Comedy.

A champion on the mic, Evans took home the top prize at the Magners International Comedy Festival and serves as the lead judge for Tokyo International Comedy Festival where he debuted his latest hour, Hakuna Matata Kumamoto—cementing his reputation as a must-watch act in Japan’s comedy scene.

When he’s not making crowds cry with laughter, Evans is passionately watching football and, more importantly, keeping an open mind about anyone willing to offer him a visa through marriage.
