About the Event:

Challenge yourself at the THROB TIME RACE 2026 – Hakuba Iwatake Vertical Race, the opening stage of Team THROB’s annual mountain racing series in Hakuba. This intense uphill race pushes participants to race straight up the steep slopes of Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort in a true “Vertical Kilometer” style challenge.

Unlike traditional road races, the course is all about elevation gain, demanding endurance, leg strength, and determination as runners make their way from the base of the mountain to the summit. The reward for reaching the finish line is a breathtaking panoramic view of the Northern Japanese Alps and the surrounding Hakuba Valley.

The event welcomes runners of all ages and skill levels, with divisions ranging from elementary school participants to experienced master-class athletes. Alongside the competitive atmosphere, the race maintains a strong community-focused spirit, making it an exciting event for both participants and spectators. Official chip timing will be used, and participants will receive commemorative prizes, while top finishers can win local products and gear.

The Hakuba Iwatake Vertical Race is the first stage of the 2026 THROB TIME RACE series, followed by the Hakuba Goryu Vertical Race in July and the Hakuba Snow Harp Cross-Country Race in October.

イベントについて:

「THROB TIME RACE 2026 – 白馬岩岳バーティカルレース」は、Team THROBが主催する年間レースシリーズの第1戦として開催される、白馬の人気ヒルクライムレースです。参加者は白馬岩岳マウンテンリゾートの急斜面を一直線に駆け上がり、標高差に挑む“バーティカルレース”形式の大会となっています。

通常のロードレースとは異なり、この大会では登坂力と持久力、そして精神力が試されます。山麓から山頂を目指して走り続ける過酷なコースの先には、北アルプスを一望できる絶景が待っています。

大会は、小学生からシニアランナーまで幅広いカテゴリーが用意されており、初心者から経験豊富なトレイルランナーまで参加可能です。競技性だけでなく、地域コミュニティとのつながりも大切にしたイベントとなっており、観戦でも楽しめる白馬ならではの大会です。計測チップによる公式タイム計測が行われ、参加賞や各カテゴリー入賞者への賞品も用意されています。

なお、本大会は2026年THROB TIME RACEシリーズの第1戦となり、7月開催の「白馬五竜バーティカルレース」、10月開催の「白馬スノーハープクロスカントリーレース」へと続きます。
