The Alps Hotel Hakuba: Set for December 2026 Opening

The Hakuba Alps Hotel, directly connected to the Hakuba Norikura ski resort, has been renovated and will reopen for the 26th-27th snow season.

Plan・Do・See Inc. (Headquarters: Azabudai, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Shohei Asaba), which develops hotel, restaurant, and wedding businesses in 46 major cities in Japan and worldwide, began operating the “Hakuba Alps Hotel,” directly connected to the Hakuba Norikura Ski Resort, on April 1, 2026. Simultaneously, renovation work has commenced, with the property scheduled to open in December 2026 as “THE ALPS HOTEL HAKUBA.” Additionally, accommodation reservations for this hotel begin today, April 1, 2026.

The Hakuba Alps Hotel, which will be reborn as THE ALPS HOTEL HAKUBA, originally opened in the Norikura area of Hakuba in 1971 as a pioneer of the initial ski boom. The Hakuba Norikura area is known as a ski resort blessed with high-quality powder snow in winter and is located closer to nature within Hakuba. The luxurious environment of being able to “ski-in/ski-out,” with the slopes spreading out immediately upon stepping out of the hotel, has been loved by many skiers since that time.

On this occasion, they will renovate primarily the guest rooms and public areas, aiming to become a mountain resort hotel that people from Japan and around the world will want to visit throughout all seasons.

Public areas, including the lobby, will have a warm atmosphere where guests can relax comfortably after fully enjoying nature. Furthermore, to ensure guests can fully enjoy themselves within the hotel, they plan to continue offering the outdoor pool, sauna, and hot spring facilities that have been popular since before the renovation, while newly adding an activity space with a jukebox and billiard table, as well as a nursery. Ski rentals and a ski school directly connected to the hotel are also fully equipped, allowing guests to enjoy snow sports with ski-in/ski-out access in winter.

The hotel’s main dining will be an all-day dining facility that can be enjoyed not only by hotel guests but also by outside visitors. They plan to offer mountain resort-style curry and Western cuisine for lunch, and a grill restaurant centered on charcoal-grilled steaks for dinner. Additionally, separate from the dining area, they will open a spacious sports bar where friends can enjoy exchanging drinks together.

Guest rooms will be developed in a total of 9 types, ranging from family suites that can accommodate up to 8 people to standard double types that are easy for solo travelers or couples visiting to enjoy nature slowly. Among these, they will also provide dog-friendly rooms where guests can stay and enjoy the great outdoors together with their pets.
