Information

Mt.Goryu is one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan, and is located in the Hida mountain range (Northern Alps) in the Tateyama mountain range at an altitude of 2,814 meters. The summit of the mountain is located on the Toyama Prefecture side. Most people choose to sleep on the mountain overnight, but it is possible to complete this hike in one day.

Sample Hiking Plan 

Day 1: →Hakuba Goryu Gondola (1,515m) → Jizo-no-head (1,673m) → Ko-tomi-yama (2,007m)  → Mt.Goryu Hut (overnight) 【Walking time: about 5 hours 50 minutes】

Day 2: Mt.Goryu Hut (2,490m) → Mt. Goryu (2,814m) →Mt.Goryu Hut  → Mt. Kohtomi (2,007m) → Jizo no Tou (1,673m)  → Hakuba Goryu Gondola(1,515m) 【Walking time approx. 6hr 05min】
